"Plateau or not Plateau...that is the Question!"

WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY
I have finally blasted through that god awful plateau with a 2lbs weight loss
this week. Which brings me in line for my Goal of 70lbs total weight loss by
Emily's Wedding next week - just 2lbs to go. Fingers and Everything crossed
I can do it - Watch this Space!!

WEIGH-IN FUN!

I carried this into the flat the other day and thought - "gosh, this is heavy"!!
All it was - was 6 x 1.5 litres of Water  - I put it on the Scales to see
how much it weighed and it turned out to be just over 20lbs

My total weight loss is now 68lbs........

Which means I've lost just over 3 of those Suckers!!

LETTER FROM INIS OIRR
(From Maisie McNeice and Leon Fernandez)

Leon and I went to Inis Oirr for the weekend. Its one of the Aran Islands in Ireland.

We stayed at a lovely B&B just by the pier.

There is only one shop and three pubs on the Island and only 250 people live there.

We arrived on Friday evening had a lovely meal and wondered around till it got dark. On Saturday we then hired bikes and cycled the whole island exploring.

One of the main attractions on the island is a ship wreck that is famous since it
appears at the beginning of Father Ted.

We then went and swam in the sea which was pretty chilly but once you got used to it was lovely. Once we then got out of the water and wondered back to our B&B we noticed a crowd had gathered. A woman was swimming with a wild dolphin which they have named Dusty. She has made the island her new home during the summer. My friend Rosin used to swim with her when she lived near to her home in Doolin.

Once the lady got out of the water a seal then came and played with Dusty which was magic!

Its such a beauitiful island and looking forward to going back. It was such a lovely break away from the city and so easy to get to

On the way home we stopped off in Galway where the Races were on. We didn’t have enough time to go and get tickets to the races.

But we did find a lovely pub and had a pint, Pizza and put three bets on in the bookies near by…all of which we won! Made €50 which paid for our pints with money to spare!

Thank you Maisie and Leon - another stunning contribution!

After months of building work the square that hosts Brentford Sunday Market

RICHMOND HILL TAILORS

During the week we made visit to Richmond Hill Tailors, who Cindy
had previously found on line. It was here that we had alterations made to
our outfits for Emily's Up & Coming Wedding. I had some trousers and
waistcoat "taken-in" no less!!

WALK BY THE CANAL

I had a walk by the canal yesterday and came across this delightful sight:

This little boy feeding oats to the birds!

Adorable!

EMILY & JIMMY'S WEDDING
(Saturday 16th August)

Apparently this book has been "a little light reading for a Sunday..."
according to Jimmy. I rather modestly suggested the only thing he need remember
to say in his speech was" I owe it all to Neicy...and you can't go wrong!"

"SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE"
(The Theatre Play)

TRAILER for NEXT WEEK!

Last Night I went to see this play at the Noel Coward Theatre in St Martins Lane.
I have decided to do my report next week.

As always your comments would be most welcome!

  3. Great news! Congrats on the loss. Way to hang in there. Again great blog this week. Not sure how I feel about being referred to as Nikki "the rat" Lauda and Oakley is the glamorous James Hunt but I’ll take solace in the fact that Nikki, like myself, is a superior driver. Looking forward to spending some quality time with you and Cindy next week and can’t wait to celebrate all together at the wedding. Keep up the hard work and determination, the results are there for all to see! Much love, Trav xx

  4. Jenny! Jenny! Jenny!

Congrats on the 2 pound loss! I knew you would do it. And it has nothing to do with me hiding in the corner eating crisps and trying to conceal it from you. I think it's because you DIDN'T go to Claridges for tea and that you DID go and dance on table tops at Oak's party! You rocked it! Good luck this week! Only two more pounds to go! Just think about walking and water! Bring it on!! So excited for all the pre-wedding and wedding activities!!!!!

    Love, Cin xxoo

PS: Loved seeing your face at the tailor's when they were taking "in" your trousers from all sides. Priceless!

  5. Absolutely amazing news with the loss Ian! I think you absolutely deserved a £1 doughnut (if you see this before tea today then please bring around 8 of them to the house).
I feel honored to have featured so heavily in this weaks blog. Also, I would like to say a big thank you for comparing me to James Hunt and Travers to the rat-like Lauda.

Congrats on passing through a plateau stage! It has been so lovely seeing so much of you and witnessing first hand how much this means to you.

    Lots of love

  6. You must feel like a new man, not carrying three cartons of water all day. Many congrats! Off that damn plateau. Say not to plateaus and gateaux. The big seven zero is in reach and after that can 100 be that far away? And how does the taken-in suit look? How much did they have to change? All brilliant news, no moaning from me this week, just congratulations

  8. Congratulations Ian. I'll keep this brief because I had 3 goes last week to enter a comment and then ended up giving up in frustration. Congrats ont he 2lb loss. Hope it continues so you can hit your target by wedding day. Loved the pics from Maisie and Leon. Also loved their Madrid shots. They get around don't they? Opened my show at Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane last Friday night. I have 40 paintings and 30 have sold. Guess which was one of the first -- yep, "Can I take your order Mr McNeice" (Dinner at the Wolsely). The London gallery may have passed it up, but the buyers here in Brisbane didn't! I'm over the moon with sales. Keep lugging those six packs of water bottles around and you'll soon lose the rest of those 2lbs dear friend. Still haven't heard whether you're coming to Prague in October. Please let us know. Cheers. David
