"BRING IT ON SISTER!"

Thanks to Jenny & Travers who made this fantastic Weight Loss Poster:

Thanks, Guys - it really rocks, oh and Chris Monger wants to know where

"IN THE FOREST"

My dear friend, Christopher Monger,  (above) - the Welsh Screenwriter/Director who
lives in Los  Angeles, is truly creative. Recently in his downtime, whilst he has been stuck writing, he has been making a fold out book called "IN THE FOREST". These are watercolours and
each page is 17" x  27". They are simply delightful and I wanted to share them with you:
(PS. Monger told me that he's lost 6lbs, inspired by me! (and the need to get into his best togs...)

BRENTFORD SUNDAY MARKET

The Temporary Market Site.

On Sunday I went in search of my Caffeine Fix from my favourite Coffee shop

The Coffee Van at Brentford Market

Whilst drinking my coffee I had another experience like I had at Chartwell a few
months ago. I suddenly heard "Neecie, is that you?" - I turned around to be greeted
by a smiling young man "wearing" a small baby on his manly chest with one of these;

Baby Carriers!

"Neecie - I'm Thomas, Kippers Son!!" Now I remember "Kipper" a farmer that Kate and I
had become friendly with when we lived in the Cotswolds. Thomas had been one of
seven children that Kipper and his wife Claire brought up in a neighbouring village.
Thomas looked remarkably like his Dad and was soon joined by his present wife, Holly.

Thomas, Holly and baby Hebe

Hebe is the Greek Goddess of Youth

Apparently Thomas and Holly now live in Brentford by the Local Football Stadium.
(Which must be a lively place to live on the odd Saturday through out the winter months!)
He is a Location Scout for Film Companies and she - up until she gave birth to baby
Hebe - worked as a Production Accountant for the Disney Company at Pinewood Studios.
I must say it is nice having some industry people as neighbours!!

TRIP TO GUILDFORD

On saturday I drove down to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford

to see my friend Rupert Young in 3 Short Plays out of  a possible 9 that make up Noel Coward's entertainment "Tonight at 8.30"

Rupert Young.

I must say it was a delight to see a very - dapper - all - singing - all dancing Rupert in the first Play.

Gave the production 4 stars and said "What better way to celebrate Noel Coward than these
rarely seen short plays. Each one brings their own flavour to a cocktail of theatrical delights,
supported by a top notch cast. A treat"

The Cast in Rehearsal

I will go and see the other plays when it comes to Richmond Theatre (11th-14th of June)

ON LOCATION

Driving back into Brentford the other day I came upon a very familiar sight -
A Location Sign for a TV Unit Base:

This time it was for the popular TV show "NEW TRICKS"

Now I've appeared in "NEW TRICKS" myself,  as a Circus Ring Master and I've also spent
six months making a TV Series called "STAY LUCKY" with the one of the stars Dennis
Waterman. Also Pat Hay their chief Make-up Artist has done several series of "DOC
MARTIN" - so I was keen to see who was around. After scouting out the back streets in
search of the Unit Base - (where all the trailers would be parked) - I came across the Film
Crew standing outside their Location on the High Street for the day;

Brentford Tattoo Parlour.

I should have known that this would have been an excellent Location for filming.
It wasn't long before I was catching up with some of my old friends. Dennis
Waterman had affectionately called me "FF"when we worked together after
hearing a story I told him of changing my son Angus's nappy - ready for
bed,  when this angelic blond infant looked me straight in the face and said
"You're a fat fucker!" I was so stunned by his remark I left the room trying to stifle
my laughter, before returning to say "Don't you EVER call me Fat again!!!"
It was also lovely to see Pat Hay who I've had many a
boozy Sunday Lunch with in Cornwall.

With Dennis Waterman and Pat Hay.

COMING UP SOON.

Well that's all for this week folks let me give you A TRAILER for
next weeks Blog

A Trip on a Waterbus from Paddington to Camden Lock.

  1. Brilliant-what a great way to build on last week's huge success. Just a brief note on the Fat Fucker story-your laughter was by no means stiffled-it shook the rafters and I remember it well. Your laughter has many ranges but stiffled is not among those present! ! keep at it Neicie and on June 16 I will bring a small, but perfectly, formed lettuce leaf! x

  5. 3 more pounds, that's incredible. Right after a milestone is when many would take the foot off the gas but you're racing on, so impressive! Sunday we were in our local market as well, where per our weekend tradition, Trav and I empty our cash reserves on fresh berries, veggies and bread, then he eats half a baguette and goes on one of his 15-18 mile runs. http://bit.ly/1ovbaHO We'll have to check out yours this summer! Keep kicking ass!

Hi Ian - Hope you are well and that Cindy is getting some well deserved rest. I've been seeing you daily as I am re-watching ROME. Nearly through Season 1. Congrats on your steady weight loss!

  9. Dad I am so PUMPED for you! 3 more pounds, you are truly on a great roll. I love Chris' paintings and the rest of your blog. I have been telling my coworkers and every Wednesday morning when I walk in everyone asks: "how many pounds this week!?" So strangers from California are celebrating your loss. I am not going to recognize you when we see each other in a couple of months. Running my 3rd marathon in July so we are both of a big health kick. Much love to you Pops, we are all so happy at how well this is going.

  10. Another week another fantastic loss! Emily's butter photo really puts it into perspective - an incredible achievement. Thanks for the shout out re ESPN! It's been so much fun writing the articles. How old was I when I called you a FF? You were changing my nappy, so could have been anywhere between birth and 12 i guess. Love evil uncle's paintings xx

  11. Well done Ian. Now, this is my third attempt to leave a comment, so wish me luck! There's something odd about my iPad that won't let me go back and correct a mistake and I'll be damned if I'm going to leave a comment full of typos. That's terrific news about another 3lbs. You've got a lot more willpower than I could ever manage. As for Angus, he must have been a very early developer to have said FF when he was still in NAPPIES. Joe wasn't into VERBAL communication at that age. I remember once when changing him he peed all over me! From then on I used to change his nappy with one hand and use the other as a sort of shield. Powerful pee-er that Joe. Again, well done mate on the blog and weight loss! (phew, finished without a typooooooo)
